Where Theory Becomes Practice
Chances are, you are in veterinary school because you feel the sense of magic in changing and saving the lives of animals. We feel that magic, too. The knowledge you learn in school is invaluable, but it is also important to learn how to apply that knowledge. Here, you will work side by side with mentors who are focused on helping you apply that knowledge, gain confidence, and become a highly desired veterinarian.
Our Externship Program
- Open to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students
- Our externs are welcome to spend 2, 3, or 4 weeks in our practice
- Externs receive a weekly stipend to help reduce travel costs
- Externs rotate through our General Practice, Emergency Medicine, and Surgery departments
- On their first day, externs are provided with an orientation to the hospital as well as an hospital handbook, name tag, and introduction to the staff
- During their time here, externs participate in weekly mentee didactic rounds as well as any scheduled rescue surgery days, wet labs, or other educational experiences
- We are happy to provide your school with any needed paperwork
